| 1 | Ich wohne in Bremen und diese Woche bin ich für drei Tage auf eine nordfriesische Insel gefahren und (äh) ja, da sind wir am Mittwoch losgefahren mit dem Auto und erstmal zu ‘nem Hafen an die Nordsee, und das hat ungefähr so zwei Stunden gedauert. | I live in Bremen, and this week I went to a North Frisian island (erm) yeah, we left by car on Wednesday and first drove to a harbour on the North Sea, and that took about two hours. |
| 2 | Und dann sind wir von dem Hafen… haben wir eine Fähre genommen und sind dann zur Insel gefahren und (äh) das hat ungefähr dreißig Minuten gedauert und dann waren wir bei der…. auf der Insel. Die Insel heißt Baltrum, und… genau… | And then from the harbour… we took a ferry and went onto the island and (erm) that took around 30 minutes and then we were by the (erm) on the island. The island is called Baltrum and (erm) yeah… |
| 3 | das (äh) Inselleben ist schon sehr anders als das Leben in einer Stadt, weil erstens (äh) ist es so, dass es natürlich viel ruhiger ist, weil (…) viel weniger Menschen da sind, und die Leute sind doch empfindlicher, was Lärm angeht. Also man darf oder sollte selbst auch nicht so besonders (äh) laut sein. | Life on the island is pretty different to life in the city because, firstly (erm), it’s of course a lot calmer, because (…) there are far fewer people there, and the people are much more sensitive to noise. That means you aren’t allowed to, or you shouldn’t be so (erm) loud yourself. |
| 4 | Und (äh) zweitens, dadurch, dass es nicht so viele Menschen gibt, begrüßt man sich auch meistens. Wenn man einfach spazieren geht und einfach jemandem begegnet, dann begrüßt man sich. Und… normalerweise tut man das ja nicht, wenn man in der Stadt rumläuft. | And (erm) secondly, due to the fact that there aren’t that many people, people usually greet each other. If you’re walking and you encounter someone, then you greet each other. And… of course… normally people don’t do that when walking around in the city. |
| 5 | Und das liegt einfach daran, dass eben halt, ja dass es ein bisschen… kleines bisschen familiärer wirkt, dadurch, dass man auf einer kleinen–– zusammen auf einer kleinen Insel ist, auch wenn man sich nicht kennt. Und… ja dann waren wir da so zwei ganze Tage. | And this is simply because of, yeah… that it’s a bit… bit more familiar, due to the fact that you’re on a small island, together on a small island, even if people don’t know each other. And… yeah we spent two whole days there. |
| 6 | Und gestern sind wir zurückgefahren, und ja… also… es war auf jeden Fall [eine] sehr erholsame Zeit, weil, man konnte auch sehr schnell zum Strand laufen und innerhalb der Insel war die Natur wirklich sehr schön und (äh) das hat auf jeden Fall auch Spaß gemacht dann in der Natur (äh) zu sein, ohne (äh) elektronische Medien. | And yesterday we drove back, and yeah… I mean… It was definitely a very restorative period of time, because you could walk to the beach really quickly, and the nature on the island was really very nice and (erm) that was definitely fun as well, being in nature, without electronic devices. |
| 7 | Ich habe auch versucht, möglichst wenig das Handy zu benutzen und (äh) abgesehen davon… also nur das Notwendigste zu machen und möglichst (äh) ja, einfach viel auch in der Natur zu sein. Und (äh) das war auf jeden Fall sehr cool, am Strand zu sein. | I also tried to use my phone as little as possible and (erm) apart from that… only doing the bare minimum and as much as possible (erm) yeah, just being in nature. And (erm) that was definitely very cool, being on the beach. |
| 8 | Also es war zwar zu (äh) kalt um jetzt dort zu baden, zumindest für mich, aber trotzdem ist es natürlich cool (äh) , dort zu sein, ein bisschen Zeit zu verbringen. Und (äh) genau es gab auch viele Tiere, zum Beispiel Hasen und viele verschiedene Arten von Vögel[n] und auch (äh) Rehe. | It was admittedly too (erm) cold to go in the water at this time, at least for me, but despite that it is of course cool (erm), being there, spending a bit of time. And (erm) exactly, there were a lot of animals as well, for example rabbits and lots of types of birds, and also (erm) deer. |
| 9 | Und das ist natürlich auf jeden Fall viel naturbelassener, als (äh) in ‘ner Stadt. Weil, wenn du ein einer Stadt lebst, dann… ja… hast du oft halt nicht so viel Kontakt mit der Natur. Vielleicht ein bisschen in einem Park oder so, aber du bist nicht so komplett umhüllt… umgeben… mit (äh) der Natur. | And that is of course in any case much more natural than (erm) in a city. Because if you live in a city, then… yeah… you don’t have as much contact with nature. Maybe a bit in a park or something, but you’re not like completely shrouded… surrounded by (erm) nature. |
| 10 | Und es ist auf jeden Fall schön, das zu machen, vor allem, wenn du lange in der Stadt lebst. Dass du einfach für zwei Tage an einen Ort gehst, wo es (äh), wo es sehr viel Natur gibt. | And it’s definitely nice to do, especially if you’ve lived in the city for a long time. Just going for two days to a place where there’s (erm), where there’s a lot of nature. |
